THE BEEHIVE SPRING IS A SINGLE SPRING WHERE THE DIAMETER OF EACH COIL OF THE SPRING CHANGES SOMEWHAT, FROM NARROWER TO WIDER AT THE MIDDLE TO EVEN NARROWER AT THE TOP

THE MAGIC OF THE BEEHIVE SPRING IS THAT EACH COIL HAS A DIFFERENT RESIDENT FREQUENCY SO THE DIFFERENT FREQUENCIES CANCEL EACH OTHER OUT THUS ALLOWING THE SPRING NOT TO LOOSE CONTROL OF THE VALVE AT HIGH REVS. THESE SPRINGS CAN ALLOW UP TO 300 TO 400 MORE RPMS THAN STANDARD DUAL SPRING SETUPS.
STUDIES HAVE ALSO SHOWN THAT BEEHIVE SPRINGS HAVE A MUCH LONGER LIFE THAN REGULAR SPRINGS BEFORE NEEDING REPLACEMENT, ESPECIALLY IN COMPETITION USE.

WHAT THIS MEANS IS THAT THERE IS NO DOWNSIDE IN USING BEHIVE SPRINGS OTHER THAN A HIGHER INITIAL PURCHASE PRICE OF A SET
THE SEAT PRESSURE AT THE RECOMENDED STATIC SET UP HEIGHT IS 100 LBS. AT FULL LIFT THE SEAT PRESSURE IS AROUND 262 LBS

NOTE: THE BOTTOM RETAINER REQUIRES THAT THE HEAD AROUND THE VALVE STEM BE MILLED FLAT AS IT IS SLIGHTLY CONCAVE IN THIS LOCATION

THESE SPRINGS SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE USED WITH CAMS WITH LIFTS UP TO .40" BEYOND THAT THERE MAY BE ISSUES WITH COIL BIND UNLESS OTHER MODIFICATIONS ARE MADE, LIKE VALVE LENGTH, ETC.. ANYTIME COMPETITION CAMS ARE USED WITH SPECIFICATIONS BEYOND THE STANDARD MANUFACTURERS CAMS IT IS UP TO THE USED TO CHECK PISTON CLEARANCES, COIL BIND LENGHTS, AND SO ON. IN OTHER WORDS YOU SHOULD KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
